BC AFFORDABLE HOUSING -------> $7 Billion over 10 yrs

BC AFFORDABLE HOUSING -------> $7 Billion over 10 yrs

To address the issue of housing affordability for British Columbians, the Province is curbing speculative demand in B.C.’s housing market and helping build 114,000 affordable market rental, non-profit, supported social housing and owner-purchase housing through partnerships.

The Government of British Columbia is making the largest investment in housing affordability in B.C.’s history — more than $7 billion over 10 years — and is implementing a 30-point housing plan: https://bcbudget.gov.bc.ca/2018/homesbc/2018_Homes_For_BC.pdf

As well, the Province is strengthening supports for renters through changes to legislation and by improving rental assistance benefits for low-income seniors and working families.

Why mention the topic of housing ?
Simply putl... BC needs affordable housing.

If aircrete blocks could be used = it might ring in cheaper per square foot.

Stack and Build
using larger blocks or full pour of exterior walls and foundation.
Convienience of easy stacking could cut labor costs

If blocks were modified / increase R value within blocks
= save on insulation costs.

1 story bungalows = ideal for aircrete type block = less load than 2 story

Homes could erect quickly  vs  stick build and high labor costs

Less pollutants / standard home off gassing / allergies

Concreate lasts longer.
Pest resistent

Magnesium added to wet mix resists water sorbtion and freezing
= super aircrete

Why mention concrete ?
Well... suppose the Calcium lime swap worked with MgCO3
= sequesters the carbon from magnesite
= CaCO3 is already used in cement industry

If calcium Lime worked for MgO extraction...
It would result in near equivalent tonnage
= finding a purpose for the new secondary CaCO3 would only be smart

There would be no LOI calcination
i'm sure some Mgo is lost during firing
= more Mgo resources

Current recovery rate = 90%
Former post ( 2.5 million tonne buffer ) is incorrect if using current calcining
BUT.... if chemical swap seq CO2
MgO becomes hydroxide
= Forces higher recoveries using electrolysis

Therefore.... 90% recovery could increase to ----------99% such as nearby peer.

An extra 2 million tonnes with potential higher recoveries
would certainly stack more $$$$ to an economic study.

If not concrete blocks...?
Wallboard = cement panels for = tiled showers

Landscaping stones / sheds / retaining walls

I would think...
Adding glue binders would assist with block integrity.
Lightweight =  places more control in consumers hands  vs  hiring crews.

Ideas...
that reduce mine waste
seq CO2 with a secondary mineral credit
MgO hydroxide idea for electrolysis format
increase recoveries
no calcination expensive furnace costs
solves affordable housing issues
2 km strike could offer multiple yr mine life

If not aircrete ?
Use CaCO3 for standard concrete or cement.
Simple.

Having a smart plan / presentation to solve Gov issues with dollar cost savings
= creates a definite vantage.

FN housing not a bad ideal.... FN has the $$$$$ too.

Cheers....
