RE:RE:RE:Northvolt CEO quits after bankruptcy filing1Student - LOL yes the Northvolt debacle presents an opportunity for homegrown solutions...but the question then is "solutions to what problem?".
My bet is that the VW giga factory in Southern Ontario that isplanned to open in 2027  will in fact be delayed (even if VW stated it was still on track in August), if opened at all. Its suppliers have yet to bee identified and a likely one of them - Umicore- already announced delays in building their cathode material factory in Kingston, Ont.

As you well know, business hates uncertainties. The EV industry could deal with some delays in planned production investment due to trending slow down in sales. But adding the choatic environment expected out of the upcoming US administration in January and its trade position so far announced, most CFO's would revisit their company's investment strategy. They are clinging to the hope that some of the key players (Scott Bessent being one) in that administration will help re-establish some measure of certainty. The old saying applies : prepare for the worst but hope for the best.
