Metals & Mining Silver

Hecla Mining Company discovers, acquires and develops mines and other mineral interests and produces and market concentrates containing silver, gold and other metals, carbon material containing silver and gold, and unrefined dore containing silver and gold. Its segments include Greens Creek, Lucky Friday, Keno Hill, Casa Berardi and Nevada Operations. The Company produces zinc, silver and precious metals flotation concentrates at Greens Creek and silver and zinc flotation concentrates at Lucky Friday. At Greens Creek, it also produces gravity concentrate containing payable silver, gold and lead. It also produces unrefined gold and silver bullion bars (dore) and loaded carbon and precipitates at Casa Berardi, which are shipped to refiners before sale of the metals to precious metal traders. Keno Hill is located in the Keno Hill Silver District in Canada's Yukon Territory. Nevada Operations consists of four land packages in northern Nevada totaling approximately 110 square miles.

Hecla's Zinc production in focus

I am a subscriber to a well known market trading service and zinc was in focus as it is breaking out from it's recent triangle formation and above critical daily,weekly and monthly averages with the potential to make a significant move.
If $zinc breaks out it is fair to say that Hecla will benefit considerably.
The subscribers were chiming in with their zinc producer observations and I offer Hecla and my own take below:

The two largest Zinc mines in the USA were (not sure if still true):
Red Dog Mine (TECK RESOURCES)
Greens Creek Mine (HECLA).

Looks like Hecla could be a great play all round in metals!

Hecla is the largest U.S silver miner and produces more than 45% of all silver in the U.S. We are the third largest lead and zinc producer, and we also mine gold. Hecla owns the only primary silver producer in Canada and we have exploration properties in world-class silver and gold mining districts throughout North America.

The zinc production coming out of Keno is rich. Meanwhile, Hecla is attempting to ramp up to full production there. Alexco stated that the now HL mill at Keno was infrastructurally capable of being expanded another 50% to six million ounces Ag Eq per annum.

Green's Creek is HL's massive zinc producer but the combined zinc production of Lucky Friday and Keno Hill will soon contribute another 50% + to the zinc currently being produced at Green's Creek-and that is without a production infrastructure upgrade at Keno.
