A few weeks ago I spent some time analyzing the daily close of WTI going all the way back to 1996.  Last year some of you may remember I posted about the influence of an election year on the price of WTI.

I wasn't going to post, however decided why not.  Although it's hardly conclusive, for this year I'm sharing graphs of what (on average) occurs during the first year of a Democrat and Republican presidency.  For added contrast, I've also included what occurred the first year Trump took office.

My sense is there's a good chance he comes out the gate in similar fashion with guns blazing to kickstart the US economy.  Be careful with your buy orders between now and inaugeration day, January 20, 2025.
