Canada is Rapidly Expanding Nuclear Power Sector Canada is rapidly expanding its nuclear power sector amid rising global demand for nuclear energy and a shift toward green energy solutions. With plans to build new nuclear facilities, including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), the country aims to increase nuclear power's contribution to its energy grid, currently at 15%.
On the uranium front, Canada, the second-largest producer globally, is positioned to lead, with NexGen’s Athabasca Basin project potentially making the country the top supplier by 2028. These developments align with Canada’s goal to decarbonize its economy and support a net-zero power grid by 2035, positioning the country as a global leader in nuclear energy production and uranium supply. Emerging as a strong opportunity amid this market, Aero Energy (AERO.v AAUGF) recently returned high-grade uranium concentrations including 13.0% UO at its Sun Dog Uranium Project.
Covering 48,443 acres across nine claims, multiple target areas recorded anomalous radioactivity readings above 65,535 cps, while drilling across eight holes (1,593 meters) identified radioactivity (>300 cps) in seven holes, with assays pending.
Highlights from key targets include the Wishbone Target, with uranium assays ranging from 0.14% to 0.32% UO and significant graphitic pelite outcrops along a five-kilometer anticline, and the Spring-Dome Target, where surface uranium assays reached 13.0% UO.
