I sold 1/3 today to realize a gain to offset a tax loss sale and then was fortunate enough to buy them right back for a few pennies less. My acb goes up but I've got a big cushion now. A lot of stocks are on the move as tax loss selling kicks in.
I'd debate trying the same strategy given this start strong and fizzle out in the afternoon trend but at some point that has to end, it always does then it moves up. And of course it would end the day I try to get cute with my tax planning ;-)
In reality though my average here is $10.50ish, largest position by a mile and given my growing aversion to making a huge payment to the CRA I think I may just have to hold this forever or until things get really crazy / takeover. Not totally joking. I'm so sick of income tax it's not funny.
My amateur opinion is we're likely about two decent news releases away from $34-35.
