ICYDK!😏 #Russia enacted a total ban on exports of enriched

@quakes99 -

ICYDK! #Russia enacted a total ban on exports of enriched #Uranium (EUP) to the #USA on 15 November, with a provision allowing for some one-time only export licenses.

All eyes have been on the cargo vessel Atlantic Action II which was scheduled to pick up a major shipment of Russian EUP last week in St. Petersburg for delivery to #Nuclear fuel buyers in the US.

Whether or not Russia granted an export license for that shipment was being viewed as a sign of how serious Russia is about enforcing this new ban.

The Atlantic Action II departed St. Petersburg late Wednesday night, the 27th, with no indication as to whether the cylinders of EUP had actually been loaded.

However, on Friday the 29th, after the US Thanksgiving holiday, Nuclear fuel brokers reported a sudden +$12 +14% spike in the Bids/Asks for Spot Uranium Conversion to a new all-time record high of nearly $100! Given the coincidence of that sudden price spike appearing just after that ship had sailed from Russia, many see that as a sign that the US Nuclear fuel buyers were informed by the ship on Thursday/Friday that their shipment of EUP was NOT loaded.

That's forced them into the Spot market to try to secure Conversion for enrichment by alternative Western enrichers.

Perhaps we'll see a notice this week from Centrus $LEU to update us on the situation... but it certainly appears that Russia is playing hardball when it comes to shutting off the US Nuclear fuel tap. Buckle up! news.az/news/-russia-h
