ODYSSEY LAUNCHES TWO SURVEYS
Odyssey Resources Ltd. (YOD.CDNX) is pleased to announce that it has
initiated a comprehensive program of multi-parameter ground geophysical
surveys at its Lucky Star property. Grids are now being prepared at each
end of a 12 kilometers long basin-like feature hosting mineralization in
both locations. Each grid will be surveyed to determine the extent of known
zinc-lead-silver mineralization at Lucky Star, at the southwest end, and
copper-silver mineralization at Zavikoy, to the northeast.
Results from the surveys will be instrumental in better defining the full
extent of known mineralization, for further diamond drilling.
Quantec Geoscience Inc., a worldwide supplier of contract geophysical
surveys, will conduct Time-domain Electromagnetic (TEM) and magnetic
surveys. Allan Spector & Associates Ltd. will carry out gravity surveys;
Dr. Spector is a world-renown gravity expert and will personally conduct
the survey. These techniques have been specifically chosen pursuant to
laboratory studies carried out by Quantec, on representative drill core
samples. The study revealed a significant contrast in density and
conductivity between the metal-bearing sulfides and the enclosing altered
host rocks. Magnetic data are being acquired to assist in the
interpretation of the gravity and TEM data, and to determine the location
of favorable geologic structures.
The Lucky Star property is situated in the Eastern Pontides in northern
Turkey, a region which hosts a number of volcanogenic massive sulfide, or
"VMS" deposits. The Lucky Star property covers over 250 square
kilometers, where polymetallic mineralization is found in several locations
within a shallow submarine volcanic setting. Initial diamond drilling,
carried out last year at the main Lucky Star zone, intersected 19.65 meters
(64.5 feet) grading 8.48% zinc, 2.73% lead, and 84.6 grams per tonne
silver, including 12.45 meters (41.1 feet) grading 11.88% zinc, 3.71% lead,
and 71.96 grams per tonne silver.
Odyssey Resources Limited is a publicly traded minerals exploration company
