Carney and the increased capital gain tax + Aecon in Ukraine

Carney and the increased capital gain tax + Aecon in Ukraine

Mark Carney may be our finance minister as early as next week while Christina would make an ambassador to Kyiv to get Aecon some work in the reconstruction of Ukraine as peace looms.

For reference, Carney
has advocated for balanced fiscal policies that prioritize investment signaling caution about tax structures that may adversely affect economic competitiveness, i.e. excessive taxation on capital gains deters private sector investment, which is critical for economic growth. He adheres to those that believe that measures, such as heightened capital gains taxes, undermine productivity and growth as they discourage investments. Carney will make investments in Canada grow up.
