FWZ has approval from Ross River FN but not from FNNND to upgrade existing roads at a cost of $100 million. In 2022, they had withdrawn the new access road application pending the passage of the new Resource Road Reg. FNNND has said they would want the signing of the Beaver River Land Use Plan in place in addition to baseline study.
FWZ is to construct a tailings dam and an ore processing plant on site. The concentrates would be shipped to Skagway Port in Alaska to be transported out to Asia for smelting.
Cantex would also need to process the ores on site in a tailings pond for concentrates before shipment. They could not simply truck out many millions tonnes of rocks for processing. It has been estimated that Capex would be $1.5 billion plus $120 million for road construction.
