It is easy to blame the current gov't for the demise of the telco's but all gov' t policy of any party has not been favorable to the Canadian telco's. They all want lower prices for service to gain votes to get reelected. Unfortunately that has resulted in the situation we are in today. You can't provide service to such a large country with 1/10 th of the population as the USA and expect the same rates as them as well. The economy of scale is not the same. imho.

- BOGUS ARGUMENT
- MOST of Canada's POPULATION LIVES WITHIN 200 KILOMETERS NORTH of the 49th Parallel CANADIAN BORDER with the USA
- TAKE OUT the TOP 3 cities in the US and Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton are JUST as SCALABLE as the FOURTH to TENTH LARGEST US METROPOLITIAN areas
- this is ESPECIALLY TRUE for CELL TOWER and FIBER OPTICS NETWORK DEPLOYMENT
