Ukraine could have joined Nato without instilling a threat to Russia ... they could have let Nato know what the deal with Russia was , would have been a good idea to have back up in case the deal with Russia was broken ... Ukraine had Russian supporters and wanted to sit  on  the fence ( with Russia and against it ) ... Many countries think they can save the world and convince everyone into becoming a democracy .. ain't gonna happen , the only think our efforts will do is throw money at blowing things up ... don't get me wrong , I love blowing things up ...but countries I find no pleasure in blowing them up ... and sending my money over there to do so is ridiculous ... somebody is making a ton of money with this war and it isn't Canada..
