Wednesday, Day 20 & Miscellaneous ThoughtsTomorrow is the 20th day for the environmental "public consultation" about the Soto Notre area. I noticed that Aris' stock has positively diverged from its peers today. Some positive news on the subject?
All of this drama doesn't smell right to me. This project has been around 15 - 20 years. Suddenly out of the blue there's this 20 days of public consultation. Couldn't they have waited until next summer with the company present their enviromental and proposed mine studies?
In the video, did Oliver tip his hand to a Freudian slip or just wishful thinking on my part? He said they produced 210,000 ounces for 2024. Through Q3, Gold production was 153,600. Hitting 210,000 implies that Q4 could be around 56,400 ounces. It's not a huge thing but with record Gold prices this quarter, 56k ounces flows to the bottomline nicely. It would be a good lead into the next year.
I'm still a bit puzzled why not a larger suitor hasn't put a bid on Aris. US market cap is $650 million. I'd think a bid of $1 Billion would be a steal for a mid-tier company. They'd get 28 million ounces of Gold resources and 500,000 ounces of added production 18 months from now. I'm expecting with a new Colombian President June 2026 and 500k annual production, Aris market cap should be approaching $2 Billion entering 2027.
