My understanding matches what you have posted - that the funding was from the BC manufacturing job expansion fund and not the CIF.
No question a pilot plant that processes certified "clean" recycled glass is a very different prospect than one that has to accept raw glass that needs to have an unknown number of impurities identified and removed prior to crushing into the final PozGlass output.
I believe the Company is being prudent in pursuing the more complex plant given that this is likely what most jurisdictions where a licensee of PLAN's IP would be required to operate given the absence of a certified "clean" glass supply.from the recycling industry.
Hi Stanmore,
Just for clarification, I did not post that funding was from the BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund program.
The company has likely applied for funding (both for say PozGlass and automation of legacy production lines) via multiple avenues; the BC Mfg Jobs Fund, B.C. Output Based Pricing System - new in April 2024, the CleanBC Industry Fund [ four funding streams open for proposals: CleanBC and BC Hydro Industrial Electrification (IE) Program, Emissions Performance (EP), Innovation Accelerator (IA) Feasibility Studies (FS) ] or SHRED. I would speculate this was done in 2023 and in 2024.
Shortly after the Lafarge agreement the company stated as a goal, to have a PozGlass pilot plant in 2024 and applied to different government agencies for capital. I'm interested to understand how the company failed to execute in this target and what have they learned moving forward.
When did they explicity say to investors that the target date for the pilot plant would be missed.
Lastly, for those who have worked in manufacturing as part of the management team, whether mid or jr level, I've never heard of applications for funded government programs to be kept secret even from operations staff. For the CEO to tout transparency, this is far from it.
