RE:RE:RE:Share BuybackWouldn't the amount of the tumble be based on how much they pay out in a special dividend?
If it really drops at all depending on what guidance they offer up with it i.e. reinvesting in future production, reducing the dividend, buying more production on the open market?
If they did try to take it private after that and offered a modest premium how much of the remaining sale revenue would that eat up? Most of it? Doesn't that just put them back at square one having to borrow capital to fund future cap ex?
As far as investors go, wouldn't getting a special diviend plus a premium on their remaining shares make them whole and then some especially based on what can only be viewed as a lack luster year? I am not even sure why they would bother paying out the divy and just offer a premium on the shares now and away they go.
Personnaly I don't think that is where management is headed as it kind of goes against what the founder (Clay Riddel) had in mind when he took POU public and I think his kids are probably pretty rooted in tradition but who knows.
Looking forward to seeing others' opinions as well.
