RE:RE:RE:DartFrom the way you post I take it you are or were some sort of an executive. You have little or no understanding of the building trades unions and when they work. Here is a little window of the life of a building tradesman. In the late 70's it was full employment with strong wage growth, from mid 80's to late 90's it was 80% unemployment with wage give backs. From 2000 to 2015 the building trades in alberta caught a break with all the massive oilsand project which allowed all to top up their pensions and put a few bucks aside for retirement. Working in a ford plant was a steady job year after year after year. So don't ever think a building tradesman has had it sweet. What they had was a boom and bust cycle. I know a large number of tradesman from all trades that had to walk away from their homes in alberta because of those hard times in the 80's and 90's and work at something anything just to put food on the table. All this happening while corp execs where getting fat pay raises and your relative had a steady union job day after day at his plant. All the more power to him and his plant job, good on him !!!!!!!!!!!
