WRLG Highlights Fork Deposit’s High-Grade Potential (Video) West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. (WRLG.v or WRLGF for US investors) shared its latest updates on the Fork Deposit and the broader Madsen Mine restart strategy in a recent video featuring Gwen Preston, Vice President of Communications. The video highlights the company's focus on incorporating high-grade satellite zones to enhance the Madsen Mine's production profile.
Vision for Madsen Mine
WRLG is progressing toward restarting gold mining operations at Madsen in 2025, initially focusing on a moderate-scale mine centered on an Indicated resource of 1.65Moz at 7.4 g/t Au.
Preston noted that the project's upcoming pre-feasibility study (PFS), expected soon, will outline key operational metrics, including throughput, annual production, costs, and mine life.
While the initial focus remains on the main zone, the company's long-term strategy emphasizes integrating high-grade zones like Fork and WRLG's nearby Rowan Project to significantly boost production and extend the mine’s life.
Fork Deposit Update
The Fork Deposit, located 250m southwest of Madsen’s underground infrastructure, features an Indicated resource of 20,900 oz at 5.3 g/t Au and an Inferred resource of 49,500 oz at 5.2 g/t Au.
Preston detailed how recent evaluations uncovered a high-grade core measuring approximately 400m x 250m x 2m, with grades significantly exceeding the current resource averages.
This near-surface zone offers cost-effective exploration opportunities and could integrate seamlessly into future mining plans.
Upcoming Plans
Preston emphasized WRLG’s goal to release a revised mine plan in mid-2025, incorporating high-grade zones to enhance output.
WRLG nearby Rowan Project, with nearly double the grade of Madsen's average, and the Upper 8 Discovery, a promising near-surface zone, are also key components of this growth strategy.
By leveraging opportunities like the Fork deposit, WRLG aims to position the Madsen Mine as a cornerstone of its long-term growth strategy in the prolific Red Lake Gold District.
