RE:RE:And so the VGCX oversight team shufflin' begins ;)GoldenBear,

It appears so far that the only things that were punished so far (except I do feel sorry for a few grayling & sculpin) are the SH's and an increased debt load for all citizens

Like everyone I hate pollution but in consideration of what is on going regards polution and reclamation in at least a another half a dozen YUKON mines this loss of containment was not the major culprit..

BTW I bet that JM is doing just fine as he is quite diversified and I also bet he and his team could have raised say $250,000,000 to stabalize and contain the heap and further put in place a closed loop processing system to get this mine productive.

It appears JM is still on the board of Northern Vision Development LP.

"Northern Vision Development LP s a First Nation majority-owned development, hospitality and seniors living company operating across the Yukon. We do business on the principle that we can help create prosperity and wealth for investors and Yukoners by making long-term, value-based investments in the communities where we operate."

"... The Yukon government has replaced an acting deputy minister leading the Victoria Gold landslide response.

In a Dec. 13 press release, the territorial government announced Lauren Haney was set to be replaced by Sierra van der Meer. Premier Ranj Pillai appointed van der Meer as the acting deputy minister to oversee the Eagle Gold Mine emergency response at thre Department of Energy, Mines and Resources (EMR) for a term of up to six months, starting Dec. 18.

Haney had been a prominent part of the Yukon government's emergency response to the Victoria Gold landslide and pursuant environmental challenges.

According to a spokesperson from the Yukon Public Service Commission, Haney resigned from the deputy minister role to “consider other endeavours at this time.” The spokesperson confirmed Haney is no longer in a position with the Yukon government.
