Pip,
Thanks for the reply. In the past I've filed a return for my mother when she received a K-1 for an MLP investment and didn't find it difficult. I have never filed one requiring a Form 8621. Don't go to any trouble looking into this further unless you're interested for your own purposes.

FYI, the streamer/royalty company I've been looking into is Vox Royalty (VOXR) a Canadian company, the majority of whose royalties/streams are from Australian gold, copper and other miners.
