RE:RE:RE:Lets all remember to not get too lost in the weeds....Gdome,
Interesting debate.
I totally agree that China and the U.S. coming to terms is inevitable.
But, IMO, this business of witholding on the part of China and expanding tariffs on the part of the U.S. are nothing but political rhetoric and empty threats.
Taking this out of the realm of minerals, I'll use an analogy
Looking in my closet, it's difficult for me to find much of anything that isn't labelled 'made in china'.
I've made the same observation in department stores as well as in big box hardware stores e.g. HD and Lowes etc. I'm talking tools, whatever,  you name it.
Tariffs are not going to force manufacturers to relocate overnight. In fact, it's virtually impossible. We'd be cutting off our nose to spite our face. N.B. That may end up being of no concern to Trump. When you hit billionaire status, prices and the general well being of the proletariat are really of no concern, (Let them eat cake).
This situation did not develop overnight.
Years ago we had a presidential candidatethat was ridiculed for trying to raise the alarm regarding relocating production offshore. He called it that big sucking sound we could hear.
He lost. Question now is: who will win?
