I share your view here on the US government position and to a greater extent, the FEd vs the next Trump government. But I don't see how the Fed can bring its balance sheet to pre-covid levels.

You mention money supply of $900B above, but Fed assets are still $2 600 B above pre-covid levels. At the current $60B/month decline, it would take Trump's full term to return to pre-covid levels.

And to pepper the situation a bit more, you have Elon criticizing various governments, UK, Germany, Canada, Mexico, just to name a few... Raising taxes by 10% to 25% won't help resolve the inflation or the deficit issue. Is it a behavior of desperation?
