RE:Still producing

RE:Still producing I wrote about this previously. I am truly curious how this works. The listed assets require well over 100MW of power that is provided by genies. Those genies at best are of 2-3 MW each. You can do the math to figure out how many you need to cover demand. The worst part is that these would need to run close to 100% capacity if there is no redundancy. In that case the fuel consumption is several hundreds of liters per hour per generator. The logistics of storing and backfilling this fuel is mind boggling. In a scenario like that the combined hourly consumption is in the tens of thousands of liters. This of course would have to be stored on site and delivered continuously until power is restored. I cannot even imagine how that works. Also, generators require constant maintenance and test runs. Normally weekly. With the number of genies on site, this is also a substantial amount of fuel that is burnt and added to opex. Doesn't help C1 costs.
Brought up earlier that SMR is a much more intelligent solution. Given the location and relationships with stakeholders, I am not concerned about permitting and safety. The problem seems to be (IMHO) capacity. The best, currently container-sized units can generate about 1 MW power. Although scalable (and definitely reusable years down the road), the nearly 200 MW power we need is a challenge. Have to admit, not up to speed with what is currently available, especially since it is improving on a daily basis, but to the point, wouldn't mind hearing from IVN whether they contemplated a solution involving at least partially some SMR units, even if from different manufacturers. This would make for an absolutely green project with assets that don't degrade over time (nearly as much as genies) and don't need constant intensive maintenance or outside fuel that requires constant replenishment like diesel. Those fuel roads would last for decades, well beyond the lifetime of the mine (assuming it is used only in case of emergency...)
just my 2-cents...
