RE:Doubtful I agree, institutions trade extremely large volumes of shares in the 10's of millions. However, I did trade a few shares based on the view that the stock was trading in a predictable fashion and it work perfectly. People on CEO seem to have collectively agreed that news typically comes out on the Monday or Tuesday so I watched the trading pattern of this stock based on an imminent news release. I know I was taking a risk with those shares, which is why I traded only a few, but I wanted to prove to myself that this stock had been moving in a very predictable pattern. It was certainly stressful to test this theory because I don't want to be chasing my shares back if I'm wrong. Perhaps it was a coincidence that the stock traded the same way as the previous weeks, but it did trade as predicted. I was not willing to try it again this week; once was enough. I am willing to concede that I may be jumping to conclusions as you say, but it worked so predictably well that it's hard not think that it was not manipulated. Very strange that it traded in such a mirror-like fashion.
Hopefully this week that pattern it broken to the upside and that the stock remains there. Q1 financials are just around the corner (i.e. January 30). We may see those before any other news release.
