Longer term problem

Longer term problemIf Trump's claim that he will increase US oil production further isn't just another one of his endless lies, that will no doubt pressure prices, and Canadian prices even more so.

The reality is that the Permian, what may be the last major oil discovery in the US, appears to be struggling to continue the parabolic rise in output. Most of the best locations have been drilled, and existing wells will get more gassy as time goes on.

So the future for oil prices is foggy at best, but we know that inefficient operators with miniscule production will suffer the most.
