NewsMercury Scheduling Systems - Aloha Airlines To License Magellan Crew Tracking System
Vancouver, British Columbia --
Mercury Scheduling Systems Inc. (MRY:CDNX) is pleased to announce
that Aloha Airlines has agreed to license the Company's mission
critical Magellan crew scheduling software. As part of the
agreement, Aloha has also extended its NOVA and Nova OnLine
licenses for a further three years.
Founded as a charter carrier on July 26, 1946, Aloha was
originally called Trans-Pacific Airlines, but quickly earned the
nickname of "The Aloha Airlines." Based in Honolulu, Aloha has
been a Mercury customer since 1986 and was one of the first US
carriers to use the preferential scheduling methodology pioneered
by Mercury. Mercury is excited about Aloha's commitment to
Magellan and their commitment to another minimum three years of
our supportive relationship.
"The Mercury and Aloha relationship is a testament to the ideal
vendor-customer partnership," said Graham Whitmarsh, President &
C.E.O. "It clearly demonstrates how vendor and airline can work
together to manage the airline's needs as they evolve over time.
What originally started as a BLOCKGEN installation has evolved to
the NOVA planning system and Nova OnLine Internet bidding
software and finally our state of the art Magellan crew tracking
system. We are confident Aloha will remain a satisfied customer
for many years to come and continue to be a strong supporter of
Mercury and its products".
Aloha provides passenger and air-freight transportation services
within the State of Hawaii, as well as weekly charter flights to
Johnston and Christmas islands, and weekly scheduled service to
Midway and the Marshall islands. In February 2000, Aloha began
flying two daily flights between Oakland, California and Honolulu
and Maui, and began service between Hawaii and Las Vegas in
February 2001. Aloha operates a fleet of 19 Boeing 737-200s and
five 737-700s.
