August 21,2001- Omni-Lite is pleased to announce that it has received first article approval for two aerospace components that are being manufactured for Huck International, Inc.; a large Southern California Aerospace company. Immediately subsequent to receiving approval the company began full-scale production. These components will be utilized in Boeing and Airbus aircraft. Of critical importance to the future of the company’s Aerospace Division, over the last 12 months it has received a 98% Quality Rating from Fairchild Aerospace Fasteners. Over this period the company had a 100% acceptance rating with 0% defects. “ This level of engineering and production support from all the employees of Omni-Lite bodes well for continued growth in the Aerospace Division”, stated Michael Walker, Vice- President of Research and Development.
The company has also received a contract for the initial production of an airbag component for a European Automotive manufacturer. These components are currently under going first article inspection. The company’s development efforts continue on the new components for Monogram Aerospace Fasteners and for the transmission components utilized by Daimler-Chrysler.
To provide continued growth, the company is pleased to announce that effective Sept 11, 2001 Tim Wang, P.Eng. will be joining the company as Sales and Business Development Manager. Tim has an Honors Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Ontario and extensive experience in product and business development.
