Thermal Energy International Inc., and Astaris LLC (www.astaris.com) today provided clarification of the AEP news release dated Friday, September 28, 2001 on the halted THERMALONOx(tm) demonstration at American Electric Power's Conesville power plant.
Thermal Energy and Astaris both agree that the test at AEP's Conesville site did not demonstrate the THERMALONOx(tm) technology as patented.

As previously announced, Thermal Energy (CDNX: TMG - news) has already commenced the Phase I OPTINOx(tm) and THERMALONOx(tm) experimentation, optimization and product development program on a pilot scale, in order to prove the commercial viability of the technology. Astaris will continue to assist in the pilot testing of this technology.
