Would you give anyone else that much money and expect to be treated this way? Obviously someone who doesn't understand the equities markets. Unless you buy your shares as part of an IPO, PP, or some other similar mechanism, the money doesn't go to the company whose shares you're buying. The majority of us who trade on the stock exchanges are playing the secondary market. We're buying and selling shares from and to other people/institutions who are making or losing money. For example, Whitesails, if you were to buy my shares of RDM, I'd be getting the money, not Rhonda. If you were to subsequently sell them, you'd be getting the proceeds of that sale.
