RE: For the Record...Motorola could use the batteries providing that their is enough milli amps in the battery. I think the use of batteries without heavy metals is a must and because of the problem with leaching of heavy metals in landfills, and also from garbage incinerators that it will be inevitable these batteries will replace all cadmium, mercury and lead batteries. The NiCd batteries are impossible to remove from the waste stream unless there is 'source seperation' and that would have to be made into mandatory laws with stiff fines. It will happen sooner than later as long as there are NiCd batteries on the market, but if Motorola is coming out with an environmental vision and policy of zero waste, then BTI's manganese technology is the only option for them....
