Norsat Signs Large Military Contract for its picoTerminal, a
Portable, Compact Two-way Satellite Interactive Terminal
BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA--Norsat International Inc. (Nasdaq - NSAT; TSE -
NII) announced today that it has signed a multi-million dollar initial
contract with a military organization for an undisclosed quantity of
Norsat's newly developed picoTerminals. This contract will be delivered in
2002, with additional terminal orders expected after the successful
deployment of the initial order.
In this application, Norsat's picoTerminals will provide reliable voice and
data communication via satellite from a small, portable outdoor unit and
laptop computer that minimizes interference and ensures data privacy and
protection.

company. This product is ideal for military, emergency services, and mobile
news applications that need absolute privacy and fail-proof security for
