RE: Board InfoDavidhab:
No problem, I enjoy sharing info. I still can't believe hardly anyone posts on Stockhouse for ONVI. It must be because it is Nasdeq based and most of the Yahoo posters are probably American and Stockhouse posters seem to be more Canadians.
If you look at most of the companies whose stock price took a major hit over the past year, law suits were filed against them so I don't believe this is a major factor in keeping the price down.
It could be just that dot-com B2B, B2G type companies are just trailing the market recovery as they still have a degree of uncertainty about them.
Onvia needs to promote their company and financial position better to the investing community and needs to get picked up on the radar screen of the major brokerage houses again. This is tough because these are the people who took the big hits when the stock tumbled.
We also need some positive press releases -- there has been very little news since September. One could argue that any good PR's would have been overlooked anyway due to 9/11 so maybe their idea is to hold there announcements until late January when the economy and life in general has settled down. This way they could move above the $1.00 mark and maintain their listing.
The stock also has some large fluctuations in their daily price and therefore makes it a perfect target for day traders. As I previously posted, I tend to play with this stock myself but I do believe it has the potential to climb into the $1.50 over the near term.
As I also posted, watch for another pullback into the high forties before that happens. Also noteworthy is the recent increse in volume ONVI has experienced. Either there are a lot of people jumping in and out or something is in the wind.
The only downside I see with ONVI is that Nasdeq only delayed delisting them. If the stock price is not above a $1.00 in the next month Onvia may be forced to make a reverse split in order to keep their listing. This is something to watch for.
I have been following ONVI since its IPO and believe ONvia has a strong future but that is only my opinion.
For another opinion on ONVI check out Danny Deadlock's opinions at www.streetsmart.com Dan is just as confused about this company as the rest of us but he does write great articles about it and many other stocks worth following.
Lets keep up the Onvia posting on Stockhouse as maybe we can make others aware of this potentially great investment.
Just my opinion,
Cheers,
