Help From "Oldtimers"
Help From "Oldtimers"I've been following this for only a week and have a few questions for those who've been long for sometime. Thanks in advance for your answers. My questions relate to what I've haerd are the most important characteristics of junior mines 1) Track record, honesty and ability of management; 2) Quality of the Property; 3) Ability to raise Capital. (I'm new and naive of investing in Mining and so have a lot to learn, please bear with me..and if you can toss me some educational bones please).
Regarding 1). Of four management listed on SRU website, two are B.Comms - finance types; one is Geo. and one is PEng. Only last two have any prospecting/mining expeience. I could be reading this wrong and will continue to research these folks, but this does not appear to be great depth of experience to handle such a potentailly enormous undertaking. Please understand I'm not being critical, just trying to understand the situation. Do any of you oldtimers (on this board that is) have extensive knowledge of these gentlemen? If so can you give me some insight directly or point me in a direction I might research?
Regarding 2) Who are they using as an independent assayist? When can we expect some additional announcements of potential? Is it possible they are sharing or going to share late breaking news on their trip? There's been some speculation on the board that the price is being "held back". This implies there are lots of folks with a keen urgency to buy at the Ask, are these folks more aware than the rest of us about information from latest core reviews? or are they wild gamblers? There's no question the price is moving up in a VERY controlled-like manner.
Regarding 3) Since all of the financing seems to come from shares/warrants/flow throughs sold to essentially small investors (as opposed to Majors like Inco, etc.) does this imply the very sophisticated firms are not interested because their "wise" assessemnt does not allow them to belive there are sufficient quantities to overcome the huge costs of extraction in this hostile environment?
I hope my questions will become more sophisticated soon, thanks to anyone who helps me achieve that. Like all boards, there's a mixture of intelligent, experienced and helpful (and I hope genuine) posters here as well as some that should be ignored; but, my overall impression so far is that there's a higher proportion of serious investors then I'm used to seeing on other boards(longs or shorts).
Thanks
