Campbell's Chunky(R) Soup and Mario Lemieux, Captain of Canada's National Men's Ice Hockey Team, today named Mary Ann Pinsonneault, from Belle River, Ontario, Canada's first ever 'Most Valuable Hockey Mom'.
Mary Ann was nominated by her 14-year-old daughter Danielle, who writes in her nomination 'my mom is the Most Valuable Hockey Mom not only in my family's eyes, but also for the whole township of Lakeshore...people tease her that she should have a parking spot at the arena with her name on it'.
Not only is Mary Ann a mother of four hockey-playing children, she works full-time, and four years ago became a role model for 'hockey moms'everywhere when she began the first ever girls house league in her community, and created a women's recreation hockey league as well. Today she sits on the Belle River Minor Hockey Board as Convener of Girls Hockey and is also a carded coach and trainer. Many in her community wonder how she manages to do it all -- if you ask those who know her, they say it's because 'she really does love the game'.
