RE: Bush's impact on gold pricesCharles and Vic. I will not disagree that "gold could rise on the back of these events" in fact, I would expect it to.
What I do disagree with is the characterization of Bush as a "loose cannon", even if it is fashionable for the media to describe him that way! I believe that there is a crisis for civilization in standing up to terrorism. I believe that Bush and his cabinet (incl Powell, Rice, Rumsfeld, Cheney et al) have some tough decisions to make, and that brute force alone without a lot of diplomacy is not the way to go, and may not work. I do believe that Bush is the man for the job, and that calling him a loose cannon is lending support to the "politically correct", self styled "sophisticated thinkers" and the liberal media who delude themselves into thinking that they are of superior intellect to Bush and his crew.
The best selling book ever, in France, (based on first month's sales) is Meyssan's concoction that 9/11 was orchestrated by U.S. government officials using remote controlled planes. The war on terror will also be fought over control of the hearts and minds of the world's citizens, and that will be a difficult battle. Calling Bush a loose cannon will not help in that battle!
