Misinformation

I listened to the local radio broadcast market summary this afternoon. The lady attributed the decline to "poor quarterly performance". Good grief, a couple pennies off the analyst's projections and it's labelled "poor performance". How much of this misinformation is in the marketplace feeding the sell off frenzy?
