This board proves that
This board proves thatthose who are emotionally involved with their stocks usually lose. Trading with your emotions rather than some strategy is foolishness. I discovered this the hard way a couple of years ago.
I invested in HML twice once in the $6.5 range and once in the $4.5 range. I sold both times, the first time at break even, and the second time at a 20% loss. If the stock does not move as you expect, it's best to get out. You can find a hundred reasons why it shouldn't be this low and is about to turn around, but if the market is selling, you're best doing the same. Highly speculative stocks such as HML (don't fool yourself that it's not very speculative) should never be held for long term. Only companies with years of solid earnings should be in your long term portfolio.
