Crack pot

Crack potAugust 22, 2002 french-fried whackos French author claims US government was responsible for 9/11 attacks Rating: ** (4 out of 4 possible cow patties) Click here to read more about this topic at Yahoo! To date, more than 200,000 French whackos have lapped up copies of "L'Effroyable Imposture" ("The Appalling Fraud"). In this ridiculous tome, French author Thierry Meyssan claims that the US government, not al Qaeda, was responsible for the 9/11 attacks. Specifically, Meyssan claims that the US government flew jets into the World Trade Center towers via remote control, and that the Pentagon was struck by a missile - not a 757. Of course, this guy has about as much evidence to back up his claims as Oliver Stone or Lyndon LaRouche... He's a certified nutball... But, it is disturbing that there are so many folks in France willing to buy into this sort of nonsense. Perhaps they're just pissed-off that American Lance Armstrong just won his fourth consecutive Tour de France... Or, maybe they just haven't managed to get used to the fact that the best wine in the world now comes from California? Then again, they could still be fuming over team USA's outstanding performance in the 2002 world cup? Who knows. Who cares. Why bother. The only thing good that comes out of France these days is Orangina. ****************************************************************** Good luck to all
