Inspiring description of Sabre and theior aims. 'Open computing' and e-commerce were interting too. Kinda defines both SCS potential to assist and their window of opportunity. POTENTIAL SCS only people that can host accross all 4 GDS's WINDOW TA's usually only sign up with 1 GDS, pay monthly figure, and get credits for booking. Where GDS's are going ultimately is 'open computing, ie internet rather than dedicated lines. It is one more step for GDS's to STOP charging for monthly access and begin taking a percentage of booking. When they start doing that, the door of opportunity will begin to close with a thud. Why? because at that point, all TA's will have access to all GDS's they will be fighting each other for market share, it will be messy, there may even be further consolidation. SCS will at that point be an equal, except no one will have necessarily heard of them, becuase they sell there product under the guise of the other 4 GDS's. SCS still have time to prosper and grow, we still have time to make our $'s because the GDS's are going to have to be dragged kicking and screaming to the point where they give up their monthly incomes from TA's.
