re: denver info...here's my update:
obviously the village was a big issue for the majors, quite apart
from their concern(s) over the quality of the gold asset. it now
seems both these important factors are history. to give this
perspective, kinross recently described rosia montana as the
"only world class gold deposit out there today". now in the
current era of consolidation, the gold mining eyes of the whole
world are very focussed on gbu right now. in my opinion gbu
have managed to pull a master stroke here in bringing in the
hickson team and in being able to move the village along quite
smoothly and in a low key way whilst everyone else was
sleeping. believe me when i say this; that's really shaken things
up. moving the village simply removes risk, and the asset
hungry seniors are on the hunt again.
my sources confirm that there are high level visits going on right
now - so think of may 2001 all over again when all those non
disclosures were signed and everyone went racing over there.
i'm going to dig into this a bit more as i think i know whose out
there too. i just want to check a bit further before i put my foot in
it! i'm in the wrong time zone, so i can't do this easily, but you
just try to ring gbu in toronto and see whose there... they're all in
romania. go figure.
line up the tinnies, i'm off to catch a wave!
