Georgia Contract
IRD Continues Significant Deployment In Georgia With Contracts Totaling CDN $1.1 Million
SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--International Road Dynamics Inc. (IRD)
announced today that it has received contracts from Brooks -
Berry - Haynie & Associates, Inc. to supply an additional two
Automated Truck Weigh Station Systems and upgrade an existing one
in the State of Georgia. The contracts are valued at
approximately CDN $1,100,000.
The systems will be installed this year in Troup and Catoosa
counties. IRD has previously supplied ten similar systems at
five locations (Catoosa, Monroe, Lowndes, Bryan and Brunswick
counties) in Georgia, six Truck Rollover Warning Systems at three
locations (Fulton, Clayton and Dekalb counties) in the State, and
have an ongoing contract for maintenance. These facilities will
be integrated with NorPass, a State-operated national commercial
vehicle pre-clearance program.
The new Automated Truck Weigh Station Systems utilize IRD's
patented Single Load Cell Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) technology in
combination with Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI)
technology to monitor a truck's weight, credentials, height and
other parameters and determine compliance with Georgia
regulations.
Mr. Terry Bergan, President and CEO of IRD noted, "We are proud
of our ongoing relationship with the Georgia Department of
Transportation. IRD's Weigh-In-Motion systems will continue to
save time and money for both the State of Georgia and the motor
carriers that use its highways and roadways. These automated
inspection stations contribute to a number of the goals of the
U.S. Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) program including
traffic safety by reducing congestion in and around truck
inspection stations and reducing the number of lane changes,
trucks exiting and merging onto and off the highway at inspection
stations, and environmental concerns by reducing fuel consumption
and emissions as significantly fewer trucks must stop and
report."
IRD is a highway traffic management technology company
specializing in supplying products and systems to the global
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) industry. IRD is a
North American company based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan with
sales and service offices throughout the United States and
overseas. Private corporations, transportation agencies and
highway authorities around the world use IRD's products and
advanced systems to manage and protect their highway
infrastructures.
