There were a few brokers that were buying some shares for their clients and a few IPC reps buying some more shares for themselves due to their confidence in the deal. The deal is worth about $1.75 plus some decent dividends on the prefs. If you discount it to present value you get about $1.45-1.50. Anything below this amount is (desperate) people selling their shares because they don't want to have their money locked up in the preferreds for 3 years with 4% dividends.
