Looks like the federal gov't ...is trying to find ways to recoup the wasted money they threw down the gun registry hole.

The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, April 9, edition that a
Competition Bureau investigation into allegations of price fixing in the
$2-billion-a-year market for office and commercial printer paper involves
Canada's major suppliers. The Globe's Paul Waldie writes that the
investigation began this week and it includes the distribution, or
so-called paper merchant, operations of Domtar, Cascades, Coast Paper and
Unisource Canada. Those companies account for nearly all office and
commercial printing paper sold in Canada. The companies said they are
co-operating with the investigation and they have done nothing wrong.
Competition Bureau officials served search warrants on each company this
week and began going through several offices Monday evening. According to
the warrant, bureau officials are seeking documents "relating to the sale,
supply, cost, promotion, competition practice or pricing with respect to
carbonless paper, or other fine paper products in Canada." Carbonless paper
is mainly used in business forms and for credit card receipts. Domtar
spokesperson William George said his company has no idea what the bureau is
looking for or why the search was done.
