Midway Airlines pilots to train on CRJ200sPhoenix, Arizona, May 20, 2003 - (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) CAE has signed a two-year contract, with two renewable successive two-year terms, to provide CRJ200 full-flight simulator training to Midway Airlines pilots. The contract is valued between C$5-6 million at list prices, based on expected simulator utilization.
This will allow the North Carolina-based airline to economically enhance the quality of their flight training programs and gain efficiencies in pilot training for their fleet of Bombardier CRJ aircraft. Midway Airlines pilots will train primarily in CAE’s Denver training centre and will also benefit from CAE’s North American training network.
"We are committed to providing integrated training solutions that ensure the safety and economic goals of our customer airlines,” stated Gary Scott, CAE’s group president of Civil Simulation and Training. Midway sought simulator, instructor expertise, and training efficiencies and selected CAE. It's this type of customer-focused training solution that promotes aviation safety and creates value for our customers—airline operators."
The Midway flight training agreement, which begins in June 2003, continues CAE's expanded support of CRJ regional training solutions. Midway Airlines is a North Carolina-based carrier, operating an all Bombardier CRJ fleet under agreement as a US Airways Express partner.
