New to stock - Need help!

New to stock - Need help!I discovered this stock by accident tonight. It does look cheap based on the co's first quarter numbers. The company's balance sheet looks pretty decent also. However, I notice that the company lost $.22 last year. MTAnderson also aluded to the fact that, in previous years, the company's performance in the remaining 3 quarters has always been dismal. Why is that the case? Is this about to change and, if so, why? I also noticed that the stock price was around $6 in 1998 and has been declining steadily since then. What is the reason for such a steep drop? Finally Gettingtechnical posted a while back that R. Chaney & Partners, a Houston firm, owned 20% of the outstanding shares. Is this still the case? Are there other big shareholders besides R. Chaney and the Garneau family. I gathered from your messages that the Garneau family owns the vast majority of the stock. How much stock do they own? Do they have a good reputation or is this another one of those public companies that's run like a small private company by one family who ignores the other small shareholders. Thank you in advance for any replies.
