Food for Thought
I must admit that despite PRM's track record of good info in the past I was sceptical when I read his post last night. I even checked to see that we didn't have a PRM imposter using a similiar alias.
First.
The "old Rubicon cores" bothered me as I recalled reading the assays from those 2 RMX/Norcal deep holes. So I did a little digging. Here is the Jan 19, 1999 Press Release from RMX:
https://www.sedar.com/csfsprod/data12/filings/00147042/00000001/g%3A%5Cccn%5Cjan_20%5C0119rmx1.pdf
They only sampled some intervals of the cores, so there could indeed be some intact sections of core stored somewhere.
Also note that in the same PR Norcal announced that they were dropping their option on the property. I suspect that RMX, having several more advanced projects on the go at the time, decided to focus their resources on those more advanced projects. Thus no further work was done on Headway and RMX later dropped the property.
Second.
As for Goldcorp's interest in the property at this time. My first reaction was that it would be unlikely that Goldcorp would be all that excited by KBG results to date given that KBG is still in the very early stages exploration. Then I gave some more thought to Goldcorp's 2003 exploration program as detailed in their Press Release of Feb 11, 2003:
https://www.goldcorp.com/pdf/news_releases/02-11-03_3.pdf
Note on page 5, top of the right hand column.
"Western Complex Area
This area is interpreted to host a similar geological setting as the High Grade Zone. Approximately 42,000 ft (12,800m) or 10% of the total drilling will be directed towards exploration in this area".
As we are now in December I would guess that Goldcorp is well along with this drilling. So what have they found?
Food for thought.
