RE: News

RE: NewsSolarnet LL+ RTBE, was live, was live, was / is generating booking income. Just so small it has no discernable effect on financials and given they were of no material benefit to companies financial hardly warranted a news release each time one went live. Personally I still think these NR's are fluff and am concerned the company still thinks it is okay to put insignificcant stuff like this out! The two probelms it had, one was that TA's were not gettting Segment credits from GDS, making it more expensive for them to book on solarnet as well as more exensive for the consolidator who was paying solarnet a booking fee. This is still be true even with TT / openfares booking engine / Solarnet. The solution to this problem was SRM. TA pays nothing extra just gets a better service and segment credits, consolidator pays SCS and Sabre booking fee, but as well as extra exposure, heve less work to do for each booking. 2nd problem which you referred to was that LL+ and LL+ RTBE never automated the checking of booking restrictions, so required someone at the consoidator to manually check the incoming booking was valid for the dates and times booked before releasing it. This is something that openfares booking engine does handle. In truth to refer last year to the last iteration of LL+ as a real time booking engine was yet another lie, given that the process was not fully automated. So 'TT content live on solarnet' may generate a little more income, but we realy don't know if it will be significant. However we also know that any system 'live on solarnet with an openfares booking engine' is little more than than a contract and a flick of a switch away from being live on SRM, at least if it is consolidator inventory.
