Penney. Envoyer Imprimer © Reproduire C'est ce que rapporte l'agence Dow Jones, selon laquelle l'entreprise québécoise s'est alliée avec la firme d'investissement Blackstone dans la tentative d'acquisition. Toujours selon Dow Jones, il y aurait au moins une offre concurrente: la firme d'investissement Kohlbert Kravis Roberts se serait alliée à la chaîne de pharmacies CVS Corp. Les montants des deux offres se situeraient entre 4G$ US et 5G$ US. KKS détient 9,9% de Shoppers Drug Mart, le premier groupe de pharmacies canadien, qui exploite la bannière Pharmaprix au Québec. Jean Coutu vient au deuxième rang au Canada dans l'industrie canadienne des pharmacies. La société de Longueuil a manifesté à l'automne son intérêt pour de nouvelles acquisitions aux États-Unis, pays qui a compté pour plus de la moitié de son chiffre d'affaires au dernier trimestre. Le titre de Jean Coutu était en hausse de 0,6% ou 0,10$ à 15,70$ à Toronto en avant-midi.
