Food for Thought

Food for ThoughtA couple of random thoughts. The mention of TransCanada is appropriate. If you check it out you will find you could have made about 150% on your money over the past few years while receiving a dividend in the 8% range. That is based on the supposition that you purchased the stock when the rest of the world was bailing out because the company had been badly managed, had taken over Nova rather clumsily and had cut their dividend. The smart money was betting they could overcome their problems and create value. In the case of IVW it could well turn out that smart management, given some time and patience, will create real value as well. The posters who are currently quite negative should answer one simple question - what is it that the major brokerage firms see in IVW that has encouraged them to invest their time and money? Perhaps the posters have dealt with that question but I don't remember the answer they gave us. Perhaps they could repeat it.
