Mr. Francois Desrosiers reports
BIG RED DIAMOND STARTS GROUND EXPLORATION ON VALENTINE PROPERTY
AntOro Resources and Big Red Diamond have begun ground exploration on BRDC's 100-per-cent-owned Valentine property of 1,024 hectares located in Valentine township in the Coral Rapids area of Northern Ontario, 100 kilometres north of Smooth Rock Falls, Ont.
Data from prior limited drilling and a recently flown airborne geophysics survey indicate geology consisting of a larger carbonatitic intrusive complex and several smaller, circular, presumably intrusive bodies, all contained within a significant regional structural intersection.
A strong stream sediment copper anomaly, discovered in 2001 by the Ontario Geological Survey in the Abitibi river immediately west of the property, is interpreted to originate from the intrusion.
The world-class Palabora polymetallic deposit in South Africa provides a model for exploration and diamond drilling completed in the 1960s and 1980s for rare earth elements on the property confirm some copper mineralization. As well, diamond inclusion indicator minerals (minerals definitively grown with diamond) have been found on the property.
Exploration will consist of grid cutting and deep penetrating electromagnetic geophysics over the large intrusion, ground magnetometer survey and diamond drilling of the smaller circular magnetic targets.
