RE: Two bits on the day
RE: Two bits on the dayWith apologies to Dickens, "it (wasn't) the best of times; it (wasn't) the worst of times . . ."
It would be silly to describe this as a banner day for the Pond participants, but the carnage could have been a lot worse. I had previously hedged a bit of both GUL and CWV, but obviously the smart thing would have been to have dumped the whole works and bought them back today. Couldn't find my damn ouija board or crystal ball in time!
Bottom line: we lost a quarter of our value in 1 day, but the consolation is that it was better than losing almost half the value:
GUL -26% but up from lowpoint of -42%
CEX -22% but up from lowpoint of -34%
CWV -15% but up from lowpoint of -42% (although bids were scarce and considerably below the trading price)
Both kestrel and redcloud sound like they know about drilling, but their interpretations of the drilling logistics for this particular well seem at odds.
Nobody has really answered redcloud's questions satisfactorily so far, it seems to me. Is someone capable of creating greater clarification?
